Historic Castle Coach House – Trail & Wineries

A beautifully restored, comfortable historic property with great hosts and location. Positive: A beautifully and lovingly restored 100+ year old carriage house on the grounds of a historic property. The kitchen was well equiped and the yard had a BBQ and a firepit. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. Don't miss taking a tour of the restored 'castle' if the hosts offer. The location was fantastic for a bike touring holiday. Negative: Note there is no AC and, like everywhere in NZ, no window screens so it could be uncomfortable in hot weather.

Relaxing, comfortable und unique place Positive: The Coach House is very private and quiet, with high quality amenities, tastefully decorated, well equipped and offering an experience in a special, historic place. Everything was sparkling clean. Loved the fireplace for colder evenings and outdoor furniture for sunny afternoons, watching the quail family on the lawn :) Marco and Ryan are great hosts and visionaries. Exciting to see what’s to come at Earnscleugh Castle.

Gorgeous and charming carriage house completely worth a visit! Positive: This space is absolutely amazing – the interior finishes are so beautiful – it felt like a luxurious boutique hotel where every detail has been thought through. We couldn’t believe how nice it was. From the towels, to the bath products, to the interior design, everything was absolutely lovely. The coffee service and setup was perfect. Penny the house manager was very friendly, made sure we had everything we needed, and even offered us a tour of the property, which was so kind. We loved it! Negative: We liked everything.
